John Lloyd, Associate General Counsel
John Lloyd is Associate General Counsel for the University of Notre Dame providing legal advice to academic and administrative leaders of the University on a variety of substantive transactional, real estate, facilities, campus services, and operational matters. In this capacity Mr. Lloyd provides strategic support and education to the University community on these legal issues and represents the University as necessary before governmental agencies, third parties, and in other external settings. While Mr. Lloyd provides counsel and advice to offices and departments across the University, he serves as the principal legal partner to the Vice Presidents of Finance; University Enterprises and Events; and Facilities, Design and Operations, and to the Vice President and Associate Provost for Notre Dame International.
Mr. Lloyd assisted with the creation and development of the extremely popular real estate minor within the University's Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate and teaches classes within the Institute.
Mr. Lloyd previously served the University as the academic advancement director for the Notre Dame Law School. Before his work for the Law School, Mr. Lloyd was a partner at Krieg DeVault where his practice focused on real estate, transactions, and commercial litigation. During his career in private practice Mr. Lloyd was regularly recognized by Indiana Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.
Mr. Lloyd graduated from Northwestern University in 1989 and Notre Dame Law School in 1992.
