John Lloyd

John Lloyd, Senior Associate General Counsel for the University of Notre Dame, provides legal advice and strategic support to academic and administrative leaders of  the University on domestic and international academic, compliance, operational, and transactional matters.  Mr. Lloyd counsels the internal University community on business negotiations and contracts, real estate, environmental, risk management, facilities, and campus services issues and represents the University, as necessary, before governmental agencies and third parties.

Mr. Lloyd previously served the University as the academic advancement director for the Notre Dame Law School.  During that  time, he assisted with the creation and development of the extremely popular real estate minor within the University's Fitzgerald Institute for Real Estate, and he teaches classes within the institute.  

Before joining the University, Mr. Lloyd was a partner at Krieg DeVault, LLP, where his practice included both real estate and corporate transactional work as well as environmental and general commercial litigation.  During his career in private practice, Mr. Lloyd was regularly recognized by Indiana Super Lawyers and Best Lawyers in America.  

Mr. Lloyd graduated from Northwestern University in 1989 and Notre Dame Law School in 1992.
