Brandon Roach

Brandon E. Roach is Executive Associate General Counsel at the University of Notre Dame. As the principal attorney for the Office of the Provost, the Department of Athletics, and the Department of Development, his practice encompasses a wide range of issues, including academic policy and governance, strategic initiatives, major commercial and charitable transactions, employment matters, athletics compliance and national affairs, litigation management, and advising University leaders on statutory, regulatory, and legislative issues. 

A graduate of Notre Dame, Mr. Roach first returned to the University as Senior Advisor to the Provost in 2006, in which role his responsibilities included advising and assisting the Provost in the development and implementation of strategic initiatives. Prior to his professional career at Notre Dame, Mr. Roach practiced appellate law as an associate of the law firm of Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., where he worked on numerous appellate matters at both the state and federal level.

Mr. Roach earned his J.D. from Yale Law School, where he was an editor of the Yale Law Journal and a member of its admissions committee. Upon graduating from law school, Mr. Roach served as a law clerk to the Honorable Judge Julia Smith Gibbons of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.
