Lisa Butt

Lisa Butt is an Officer Assistant to Marianne Corr, Vice President and General Counsel, starting in this position in May 2016.  She provides executive administrative support services including, but not limited to – managing the VP’s time and calendar, detailed travel arrangements, minutes of University committees chaired by the VP, and correspondence using an electronic file management system.  In addition, she is responsible for event planning, special projects for the VP, and processing reimbursements.

Previous to her current position in the Office of General Counsel, Lisa was Senior Administrative Assistant to David Harr, Associate Vice President for Auxiliary Operations, from 2007-2016.  Auxiliary Operations is responsible for a diverse group of revenue‐generating auxiliary units that support student life, academic endeavors, and research initiatives while providing a culture of hospitality and service excellence to students, faculty, staff, and visitors to the Notre Dame campus.  Business units include Campus Dining; Morris Inn and Notre Dame Conference Center; St. Michael’s Laundry; Finance & Administration which includes Cedar Grove Cemetery, the Campus Card Office, and Segura Arts Studio; Licensing; Notre Dame Concessions; and the Hammes Notre Dame Bookstore.

Since joining the Notre Dame staff, Lisa has been a part of a cross-functional advisory group that developed the University’s TAP program (Today’s Administrative Professional) for support staff at the University.  The advisory group was presented a Presidential Team Irish Award in 2010.  Lisa has also received an employee recognition award and spot awards at the University for exceeding job requirements.

Prior to joining the University, Lisa has served as executive assistant to five presidents/CEO’s at three local corporations – Notre Dame Federal Credit Union, Holy Cross Resources, Inc., and Robert Bosch/AlliedSignal Automotive.  While at AlliedSignal, she was instrumental in creating an Administrative Support Council which included the support staff of all entities throughout North and South America (over 60 members).  She also received various awards including Total Quality Leadership and an employee special recognition cash award from the corporation.  While at Holy Cross Resources, Lisa organized an Administrative Support Group to develop a more cohesive support staff organization, which created an atmosphere of teamwork and shared best practices.  She also co-chaired an Employee Move Team to support a detailed and well organized move from Saint Mary’s College campus to a new facility in Blackthorn Development.

Lisa holds an Associate’s Degree from Ball State University and received her Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) designation.  She is a past member of Professional Secretaries International (PSI), now known as the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP).  While involved with PSI, she served two terms as president and other leadership positions, including chairman of various committees on the local and state levels.  She also represented the chapter as “Secretary of the Year” in 1983 for leadership and involvement in chapter, professional and community activities.

Lisa and her husband, Alan, reside in Edwardsburg, Michigan.  They have one married son and three beautiful grandchildren.
