Todd Dvorak

Todd C. Dvorak serves Notre Dame as its Deputy General Counsel. In addition to providing general legal representation for the University, Mr. Dvorak coordinates the legal affairs of the Office of General Counsel, directs office operations, handles a variety of complex and sensitive legal matters, and advises a broad set of University leaders. He serves as primary counselor to the Provost’s Office and also supports the Department of Development and the Department of Athletics.

Mr. Dvorak was named Deputy General Counsel after serving for nine years in the Office of General Counsel as Assistant, Associate, and then Senior Associate General Counsel. Prior to joining the office, he worked with the Provost’s Office and the Office of Human Resources as a Faculty Affairs Specialist. Drawing on his experience as an employment lawyer and background as an educator, Mr. Dvorak also serves as a Term Teaching Professor in the Notre Dame Law School, teaching employment discrimination law.

Mr. Dvorak returned to the University and his hometown in 2014 from Washington, D.C., where he practiced at the law firm of Jones Day. He is a graduate of Notre Dame, with a B.A. in History, and received his law degree from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University, Bloomington. His wife, Sarah, is a graduate of Saint Mary’s College, where she currently serves as Dean of Enrollment Management and Marketing. They have three children: Oliver, Eleanor, and Grace.
