Lauren Hanna

Lauren E. Hanna is Assistant General Counsel at the University of Notre Dame.  As the principal attorney for the Department of Athletics, Ms. Hanna’s practice includes advising the Department on a wide range of issues, including commercial transactions, employment matters, and athletics compliance.

Before joining the Office of General Counsel, Ms. Hanna was an associate attorney at Latham & Watkins LLP in their Boston and New York offices.  Ms. Hanna’s practice at Latham & Watkins focused on corporate matters, and she specifically advised clients in the emerging company and venture capitalist industries.

Ms. Hanna earned her Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Brown University in 2017, where she was the captain of the Brown Softball Team.  Ms. Hanna received her J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 2021, and during her time at Notre Dame, she served as the student representative on the Faculty Board on Athletics and as an editor of the Notre Dame Law Review.
